Sweden holds an atmosphere that radiates oxymoronic elements: it is quiet yet alive; serene yet bustling; contemporary yet traditional and overall a country that holds a culture that is indeed extremely rare to find. The intricate architecture flowing through the city coupled with the modernised refinement gives Sweden a unique character. If you are in the capital of the nation, Stockholm, you will most likely find yourself walking down their picturesque alleys to find the most delightful shops that will most likely sell the best waffles you have ever tasted. The houses are painted in bright colours that will surely catch your eye and create a sense of euphoria as you continue your stroll along the Stockholm streets. Although you will not see any blinding high-rise buildings, you will surely be seeing heavily designed structures embedded with deep history and intricate architecture; a great combination for any tourist or even local to see everyday.

personal tips
- It is, more often than not, quite cloudy in Sweden so I suggest bringing an umbrella as you never know when it might come down pouring!
- Knowing that, you also may want to bring some sunglasses because the brightness of the white clouds may be blinding (I know it was for me)
- Bring good walking shoes! The taxi’s in Sweden are quite expensive so you need to rely on your feet!
- The fish-and-chips in Båstad are a must try! Extremely fresh and incredibly made
- Potatoes are a big thing in Sweden, mostly cooked boiled. Be sure to also try them in different forms! Potato quality is amazing
- Make sure to try their black liquorish at least once! Pretty gross in my opinion but a must try to really be in with the locals!
